Today our parish priest reminded us of the words of St. John of the Cross: "In the evening of our life we will be judged by love."  Then commenting on this thought, he added:

As fragile as the wings of a butterfly, this delicate piece of paper lace also alludes to the metaphor of the bridge. In the dialogues St. Catherine of Sienna, Jesus Christ was described as the magnificent bridge between heaven and earth.

The Way of the Cross leads to divine light.

"We adore Thee, Oh Christ, and we bless Thee. 

Because by Thy Holy Cross Thou hast redeemed the world." 

This prayer is  prayed universally 

both in the Church in the East 

and the Church in the the West.
